SANS aim to promote knowledge and awareness about the nervous system among the general public.

 Research Areas for SANS

Judging from our last scientific meeting it appears that neuroscience research is alive and well in southern Africa despite the severe economic pressures that exist. There are the old established research groups that continue to do good research and remains the benchmark, while new groups have also been formed and are in the process of establishing themselves.
